Ahh...Life

It's been a while since I last wrote. I've had life happen.

I had a rash that magically appeared on Friday the 13th...yes, wonderful timing. It progressed over the weekend, and I called the best Dermatologist in town, John Zone at the University of Utah, on Monday. He was able to see me the same day. He took 3 skin biopsies, blood work, and cultures. Of course, the obvious fear was that my cancer had come back. Other possibilities included vasculitis and graft versus host disease (GVHD). After a long 10 day wait, and 10 days of prednisone, the results are that I have skin GVHD. So Dr. Zone talked with my fabulous bone marrow transplant MD, Auayporn Nademanee (Dr. Nade). It has been decided to get me off the steroids (YES!), and put me on tacrolimus (anti-rejection medication). My rash has improved dramatically, and I am feeling very good about the results.

I have been house hunting, and I have found "the" house! It was one that I had found on my own, and my real estate agent has shown me other houses since. None of the ones she has shown me has the same potential that this house has. To see what I'm getting myself into, go to www.utahrealestate.com and put in MLS# 801798 I have even placed a bid on it. There are 2 other offers on the table before mine, but I have a lot going for me. My dad and real estate agent say I am a solid buyer. I won't hear anything until April 1st. I'm taking a gamble on this house, but I think it's worth it. I have so much that I can see in this house for Mike and me that I would be a fool to not give it a try. I have to say that I am totally excited about this house! I am looking into the federal grant of $8000.00 for being a 1st time home buyer. That will be nice. Then I'll have almost a full year of tax write offs in addition to that. Please help me put the energy out to the universe that I get this house.

The cats are doing well - still chasing faeries all over the apartment. Work is slow, and that's kind of scary. I am getting a day off during the week, and that is doing me good. I am still getting enough hours to live on, too.

My book with Lilli is coming along. Each card that I scrapbook is taking me on average 4 hours! That is what is going to take me the most time to finish for the book. I need to dig my heels in and really finish some things. I have a week to wait before I hear on the house, so I have plenty of time to kill. ;) I have thought about printing some of my photography, matting and framing it, and then displaying it at a local coffee and tea shop, Cafe Alchemy. It's some thing that could bring in some extra $$$.

Well, I can't think of anything else. Hope you all are doing well and that I get to hear from you soon.

Fun at the Alley...Bowling that is

I scored my personal best last night - 129! Since purchasing my own equipment, my game as improved dramatically. I used to be happy with a score over 50. Now I'm aiming for a consistent score over 100. Mike and I are talking about wither taking a bowling class or purchasing a DVD to help improve our game.

I also decided to purchase a Wii. I also bought Wii Fit. I am more excited to be working out now than I was before. Let me tell you, I worked out for 30 min yesterday and I can feel it today. It's a nice feeling.

Hope you all have been enjoying your weekend.

What a Week!

First update is on my deposition from Tuesday. It was very stressful. Needless to say, the woman that hit me is in complete purgery hell! Ok, we haven't caught her there, yet, but I know and my lawyer knows that I am telling the truth. I have some key evidence that somehow got missed when my lawyer and I first went through my file - 2 pieces of paper. 1 has her handwriting on it with all of her insurance info, and the other is in my hand writing with the license plate #, time, place, and that I was rearended. There are so many things that I would LOVE to tell you, but I think I'm going to wait and see where this new evidence gets my case before I begin putting certain things out in the universe.

The Flat Stanleys made it home just fine on Wednesday this week. Last I heard, they were well received. The mom, Sara, said she would take lots of pictures. I'm interested to see what the Stanley Brothers have gone home to. ;)

OH! I finally have in my possession my own bowling ball, bag, and shoes!! It has made a noticeable difference in my game already. You'll have to come and play with Mike and me sometime.

Stephanie had a snow day this week. While I have not had one that keeps me from going to work, we are getting fresh snow right now. It's light, but we're supposed to have 3 inches when I wake up tomorrow. We'll see.

I hope you all have had a good week, and, like me, looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend.

It's Complete!

The Flat Stanley project is FINALLY complete! here are pictures of the scrapbooks I made for the girls. Mike talked with their mother, and she thinks the girls will love them. Enjoy!

I know it's sideways - I don't know how it happened, and fixing it going to take a while - it's a long story.

It's been a lot of hard work, but I feel a great sense of accomplishment. So much so that I have begun to clean up around my apartment. Mike has acquired me some shelving for my play room, and it's looking MUCH better! I can actually move around in it now! Hope you all have been enjoying your weekend.
