Long Time No Hear…

Well, as you can see I have not updated my blog in about 2 weeks. I have been one crazy busy bee! I’ve been traveling, packing, cleaning, moving, painting…and the list goes on and on.

The House (no, I have no current pictures…long story to be revealed) - downstairs got flooded the night I left\morning after I left for my trip to Orcas Island (2 Wednesdays ago). how did I find this out, you ask - my neighbors called the city, and the city called me - I was just outside of Seattle when they called. It's a long story, but the short of it is - I called Mike to see if he had left his keys and garage door opener at home (he was also out of town, but for a memorial service); he had; called dad (HOORAY for Daddies!) and he was able to pick them up and meet the city at the house to get things straightened out and cleaned up. The city is paying for clean-up and restoration - which I am planning on including half of the hardwood flooring that, despite being up on a palate, was ruined. My poor cats have been traumatized by the fans that the disaster clean-up crew had going for 4-5 days. I did purchase a cd from Bed, Bath, & Beyond (BB&B) called cat calm - they also have one for puppy calm, if you are interested. The cat calm was great for Tiger and Chester - they were able to calm down and snuggle easily and not freak out around Mike. Other things are not completely destroyed, thank goodness. My house, though, is now a complete disorganized mess instead of an organized mess. At least the master bathroom is now put back together - yes, the toilet was covered in silicon (a BIG plumbing no-no), so Mike pulled it out and cleaned it up. and of course, the list of things to do continues on... *sigh*

I thoroughly enjoyed my annual trip to Orcas Island for the Therapeutic Touch (TT) workshops. I had a fabulous experience, as always, and I am so happy that I was able to go for at least one of the 2 weeks. My dear friend, Dee (Dolores Krieger, co-founder of TT), and I were able to spend some quality time together, which was wonderful! She is pretty sure that this is the last summer of workshops that she will be attending, which is sad for us but infinitely good for her. At one point I asked her when was the last time she received TT as I always saw her giving and never receiving. She said she couldn’t remember. This is one thing that screams to me that it’s time she started doing things for her. Besides, she turns 88 on Aug. 1! It’s just time.

My best friend, Stephanie, is back in town! We spent last night doing things we have always done together – went to Ocean City for a dinner of pot stickers and wonton soup; went home for ice cream dessert, went for a 1-1.5 hour walk, came back to her house and played speed scrabble…let me say that leaving was hard and coming to work today was even harder knowing that I could be at her house playing speed scrabble or sewing or out hiking…nevertheless, I have a mortgage to pay, hence I showed up at work.

I hope you all have been well and to hear from you soon!
HUGS!
