DON'T DO IT!!!

Ok, we all learn some things the hard way. I have 2 for you.

#1) Pinnacle Highland Apartments in Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121 - DON'T DO IT!!!! If you look back further in my blog I tell you the entire fiasco of how they have tried to charge me to repaint the entire apartment which #1) was not in the lease, #2) they state as standard charges - with 2 stories on that one - the first is that it is because I lived there less than one year, and the second is that it's $300 because I stayed there less than a year and the amount would go down for every year I stayed after that - this was also NOT in the lease. In addition, they screwed up my utility bills for the apartment. I fought with them on the phone and told them it wasn't in the lease therefore I wasn't going to pay them. Well, they sent the "bill" to a collections agency! They never sent me a second notice before they did that. In addition, the agency that they sent it to #1) called everyday without leaving a message (totally unprofessional!) and #2) when I finally spoke with someone they sounded like they weren't even out of high school in terms of their customer service skills! Wait, that could describer just about any person on the planet these days...whatever happened to good customer service...anyway - Thank GOD my uncle is a lawyer and going to bat for me on this one!!!! Props to Uncle Rich! They've pissed me off enough for me to want to put this out there in a big way - so I'm also posting this on facebook. :)

#2) Grants 360 - DON'T DO IT!!!! This one already has a bad rap out there, and I just want to add to it in a big way - so I'm also posting this on facebook. :) They have a $2 fee for getting a kit, but they don't send out a paper kit anymore, and then this $2 gives you about 24 hours access to online information. Right after I registered I went to the website and was not impressed. I thought that I was tired and maybe I would be able to see things better in the morning. Well, the website they gave me to go to loog in no longer came up! In addition, they attempted to charge my credit card additional money! I went back and reviewed the fine print, and it then tells you all of these wonderful details. So, how cool is my credit card company? Cool enough to not let the charges go through! They thought it was fraud and declined the payment, called me, and we figured things out! So when I double looked at the fine print, you are supposed to cancel 24hours before you get charged...so basically, they are going to try and scam you out of an additional $60 because you cannot cancel within 24hours of that charge once you have started!

So, I hope that you have learned from my mistakes. I HATE learning this way! Maybe you have some others that you would like to share so that at least I don't have to learn them the hard way. ;)

HUGS!
